Virginia’s healthcare sector is booming, and there is a growing demand for skilled professionals in the field. Whether you’re drawn to nursing, medical technology, or allied health professions, pursuing a career in healthcare opens the door to a future filled with purpose, stability, and growth.
Virginia’s Community Colleges’ FastForward program offers a unique opportunity to gain skills quickly and affordably. The program is designed to fast-track your education, allowing you to enter or advance in the healthcare field in a matter of weeks or months.
What Is FastForward and How Does It Work?
FastForward is a short-term workforce training program that offers credentials for in-demand jobs. Training courses take place at one of Virginia’s 23 community colleges and combine traditional lectures with practical, hands-on learning. Many instructors of the program are professionals in the field, bringing real-world experience to the classroom.
FastForward is supported by the Commonwealth of Virginia, which provides financial assistance and funding sources to help offset the cost of tuition and fees. The average out-of-pocket cost for FastForward training is $800; however, many students who complete the program pay far less.
Because training is available to both individuals interested in starting a new field and to those looking to improve their skills, students can build upon their completed trainings or “stack” credentials to advance their career.
